Job Summary/Basic Function

The Outdoor Program (OP) Rental Center Specialist - Ski/Board Teach will serve as a rental technician with specific increased responsibilities. This position requires previous experience (two full seasons) working in the Rental Technician position. The Rental Center Specialist - Ski/Board Tech primary responsibilities include repairs, tuning, detuing, and mounting on all alpine, touring, telemark, cross country, split boards, and snowboards at the Outdoor Program. The OP depends on well prepared ski and snowboards to make the customer's experience. The Rental Center Specialist - Ski/Board Tech reports to the Coordinator, Outdoor Program and the Student Rental Center Manager, but is expected to be proactive and be able to manage his or her own time and responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

One-year minimum experience in the Rental Technician position. American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and standard First Aid Certifications. Maintains the Atomic Tech Certification. Experience using, maintaining, and repairing all varieties of skis and baords. Experience using the Wintersteiger tuning equipment. Personal interest in the outdoor recreation industry. Ability to work on independent projects and take initiative. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and make decisions based on experience and strong judgement. Ability to supplement learning experience with individual research and application. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Desire to grow in a leadership capacity and serve as a mentor. Ability to stand or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
