Your New Role…

This Senior Accountant position within the Corporate Operations Accounting, Technology Expense functional team will be based in Knoxville or Atlanta, and primarily responsible for supporting their assigned depts including reviewing P&L activity; preparing journal entries for accruals, prepaids, reclasses, intercompany activity; preparing monthly/quarterly P&L variance explanations by dept and by account; preparing balance sheet reconciliations and flux explanations; and preparing/assisting external reporting schedules. This position will support the day-to-day accounting and maintain the integrity and accuracy of the P&L and balance sheet. It is imperative that the candidate have excellent communication skills and a high level of professionalism to communicate both financial and non-financial information to Finance and Operational partners at all levels throughout the company.

Your Role Accountabilities…

Corp Operations Technology specific support for Core and Data, Platform Engineering, Consumer Digital, SPARK, and CD&P. Support of the various departments includes tracking prepaids and accruals, posting reclasses, engaging in day-to-day accounting activities associated with assigned departments, meeting with business leads and FP&A, touching base on contractor accruals and validating actuals posting to the ledger.

Integration review and tracking including prepare accruals, following up with departments, reviewing GL postings, validating expenses against approvals and contracts, working closely with Technical Accounting, and verifying SOX compliance.

Month End Support including preparing accruals, prepaids, and other manual journal entries and related documents, preparing supporting files to analyze the monthly activity associated with Technology Expenses rolling up to Corporate Operations in various Functional Areas. Identify and highlight relevant variances between (1) current month P&L and YTD average, (2) MTD P&L actuals to forecast, and (3) BS fluctuations MoM/QoQ.

Provides timely and accurate support to Hyderabad team regarding Technology Corporate Operations balance sheet account reconciliations including research and in-depth explanations to support balances.

Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to assist Accounting Manager and other team members to cover any information request for internal (SOX-Internal Audit-GBS Management) or external (Auditors, Tax, Legal or Statutory) filing purposes.

Participate in other special projects and ad hoc analysis in your area of responsibility including redesigning reports and processes in the new SAP S/4HANA system, Legal accrual analysis, ad hoc journal entries, and AP open invoice accrual processing. Prepare and maintain accounting process documentation.

Qualifications & Experience….

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent

3+ years in relevant accounting experience (industry or public).

Proficient in Excel and other MS tools.

Well-qualified Senior Accountant candidates will have:

Detail-oriented and high energy

Hybrid Position

Master’s degree and/or CPA is desired.

Experience in Media Industry, Big Four firms or global companies

Experience in SAP, S/4 HANA, or any ERP systems.

Experience in Analysis for Office, EPM and other database tools.

Experience in Blackline Certification.
