Job Description
Shore Physicians Group is recruiting experienced surgical physician assistants/nurse practitioners with neurological experience to join our growing, collaborative surgical provider team. Our physician assistants/nurse practitioners are an integral part of our team and in this position you will provide comprehensive patient care in the hospital and outpatient office setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all duties under the direction and supervision of physicians(s) of the department and in accordance with established policies and procedures.First, assist surgical cases enhancing the efficiency, continuity, and quality of surgical care in the operating room.Serves as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to ensure the smooth flow of patient processing, treatment and discharge including patient triaging.Perform in-hospital surgery consultations.Perform and assist with bedside procedures.Performs daily patient rounds.Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.Interprets laboratory and test results.Confers with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.Upon discharge, notes discharge summaries, prescriptions, and any referrals on patient charts.Informs patients of the necessary post-discharge care instructions.Participate in developing, reviewing, and revising medical/surgical protocols.Participate in training of staff and students.Other duties as assigned.License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
PA: Graduate of a Physician Assistants program with current license in the state of New JerseyNP: Graduate from a school of nursing with current New Jersey license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's degree in NursingExperience:
OR experience or trainingStrongly prefer two years PA/APN experience in a relevant clinical area strongly preferred, e.g., neurological surgery or other surgical specialties.Why join us?
