Summary:
Shore Physicians Group is recruiting an experienced surgical physician assistant/nurse practitioner with Orthopaedic experience to join our growing, collaborative provider team. Our physician assistants/nurse practitioners are an integral part of our team and in this position you will provide comprehensive patient care in the hospital and outpatient office setting.
Responsibilities:Perform all duties under the direction and supervision of physicians(s) of the department and in accordance with established policies and procedures.First assist surgical cases enhancing the efficiency, continuity, and quality of surgical care in the operating room.Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to ensure the smooth flow of patient processing, treatment and discharge including patient triaging.Perform in-hospital surgery consultations.Perform and assist with bedside procedures.Perform daily patient rounds.Respond to and manage acute care needs of hospitalized Orthopaedic patients.Initiate, document, and communicate the plan of care and follow up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.Write orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.Interpret laboratory and test results.Confer with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.Upon discharge, notate discharge summary, including any prescriptions and/or referralsInform patients of the necessary post-discharge care instructions.Participate in developing, reviewing, and revising medical/surgical protocols.Participate in training of staff and students.Other duties as assigned.License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
PA: Graduate of a Physician Assistants program with current license in the state of New JerseyAPN: Graduate from a school of nursing with current New Jersey license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's degree in NursingExperience:
Strongly prefer two years PA/APN Orthopaedic surgery experienceWe Offer
