Primary Purpose of Organizational UnitThe UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is one of 5 health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, and Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Position SummaryExperiential education, specifically early, continual, and immersive clinical learning, is a hallmark and guiding principle for our PharmD curriculum. The Office of Experiential Programs (OEP) complements the School's academic mission and is responsible for (1) building and sustaining strategic partnerships for the delivery of the experiential education program; (2) creating the vision and learning outcomes for these experiences in collaboration with our experiential partners and the School; (3) forming the practice site teams needed to fully execute on implementing these experiences; (4) increasing engagement of preceptors in contemporary preceptor training and development programs; (5) providing support services to our students and practice sites; (6) overseeing operations to maintain ~200 students per month completing practice experiences 12 months annually; and (7) assessing and sharing the results of our experiential program internally and externally.

The Experimental Program Manager- Clinical Training is responsible for providing the strategic leadership essential to having the required clinical agency contracts, engage directly with students to ensure that the experiential training requirements are met for experiential training, and in ensuring clinical site requirements are managed appropriately. The incumbent must also ensure adherence to University and School of Pharmacy policies and procedures, accreditation standards, clinical agency contractual obligations, and state law. This position negotiates the terms of the clinical affiliation agreements and directs the implementation and management of the health, safety, and legal experiential training requirements for all enrolled students. The Program Manager will also provide ongoing and annual review and maintenance of preceptor and site documentation, with a focus on quality improvement initiatives for scheduling software. Additionally, the position will support exploration and implementation efforts in AI integration, including but not limited to overseeing software updates and changes to enhance program efficiency. The role involves managing experiential training requirement records, translating contractual language into student requirements, updating experiential training requirement policies, working with students for training requirements and contract-related matters, and serving as the primary liaison with internal and external clinical agency representatives. The Program Manager reports to the Director of Experiential Programs and collaborates closely with the Assistant Dean of Experiential Curriculum. The incumbent also serves as the primary liaison for the School of Pharmacy with the Office of the University Council relative to the execution of clinical agency contracts.

Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsRelevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant experience in substitution.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and ExperienceThe incumbent must also have a demonstrated ability to:* Work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team contributing to team efforts* Organize and implement workflows focused on a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail* Work under pressure, multitask, manage competing obligations/deadlines, and prioritize responsibilities and deadlines in an often-changing environment* Proactively identify and independently solve complex problems* Communicate (e.g. written and verbal) and collaborate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external constituents* Ensure a strong customer service focus while also holding students accountable to meeting experiential training requirements for external clinical partners

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and ExperienceAdvanced degree preferred. Preferred post-Baccalaureate degree in business administration, public administration, law, or related business area; Preferred at least 3-5 years of relevant experience that includes extensive use of database programs. For candidates with >5 years of relevant experience, an undergraduate degree may be accepted. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Experiential Program-Related Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:* Experience with AI integration and implementing software development changes for program and service enhancement* Experience with the ongoing review and maintenance of documentation in administrative systems, aimed at supporting quality improvement initiatives* Knowledge of contract law and experience in contract negotiations* Experience in the drafting, processing, negotiating and/or administration of legal contracts/agreements/memorandums of understanding.* Relevant experience in clinical agency requirement implementation and/or management* Experience administering programs and services* Experience in student affairs on a college/university campus is preferred* Proficiency in Microsoft Office platforms and database management
