We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Grand Bay, AL. As a PTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to assist in providing high-quality care to patients recovering from injuries, managing chronic conditions, or seeking to improve their physical function. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping others achieve their rehabilitation goals in a supportive and collaborative setting.Key Responsibilities:Patient Care:
Assist in implementing and administering physical therapy treatments and interventions as prescribed by the supervising Physical Therapist. Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to enhance patients' mobility and strength.
Patient Evaluation Support:
Help with patient assessments and gather data to support the development of individualized treatment plans. Document patient progress and response to treatment accurately.
Education and Training:
Educate patients and their families about the therapy process, home exercise programs, and strategies for improving physical function and preventing injuries.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient treatments, progress notes, and other relevant documentation. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and professional standards.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the Physical Therapist and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care. Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions about patient care and treatment planning.
Professional Development:
Engage in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in physical therapy practices and enhance professional skills.
Qualifications:Education:
Associate s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. This program should be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
Licensure:
Current and valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Alabama. Certification through the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) for PTAs may also be required.
Experience:
Prior experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Skills:
Strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Proficiency in executing physical therapy techniques and adapting to patient needs.
