Executive Director, Thought Leader Liaison
The Executive Director, Thought Leader Liaison will build the strategy and lead our field-based TLL team. This individual will lead the full development of a strategic plan to advance the care for Recurrent Pericarditis patients through specialist centers who are leading on improving the awareness, diagnosis and care for this rare autoinflammatory cardiovascular disease. Pertinent focus is on the identification and cultivation of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in Recurrent Pericarditis (RP), both at current centers of excellence for Pericardial Diseases, as well as at emerging centers who are looking to become prominent in the disease space. The core aim of this role is to ensure the TLL team deliver additional value to patients who are suffering from RP; by improving the time to diagnosis, enhancing referral pathways, and compliantly advocating for rapid access to key centers who are experienced with managing the disease. The role will work closely with other cross functional teams as needed, to ensure consistency in messaging and advocacy collaboration as appropriate. In addition, the TLL role will lead activities such as commercial advisory boards, speaker bureau development and execution, KOL congress activities, and other commercial educational initiatives to deliver on business opportunities for Kiniksa.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):Create and execute a full strategic and tactical TLL plan to address the ongoing needs of RP patients in the U.S., namely, elongated time to diagnosis, frequent misdiagnoses, and addressing potential improvements to referral pathways to key centers who have a core interest in diagnosing and managing pericardial diseasesRecruit, develop and retain an industry-leading TLL teamEnsure the measurement and reporting of compliant metrics for the TLL team, at aggregated and individual levelSupport the development and profile of the team internally within Kiniksa across multiple functionsExecution of KOL engagement plans to include the identification and curation of relationships with current and emerging KOLs in the academic and community setting to support insight generation and development of advocacy in a dynamic market.Solicit disease and brand insights through engagements from the TLL team and shares insights with home office cross functional teams to identify market gaps and/or market opportunities to support the development of commercial and marketing strategy, initiatives, and resourcesIdentify opportunities to collaborate with key institutions on patient care initiatives in Recurrent PericarditisIdentify and collaborate with additional KOLs in key centers in order to advance the knowledge base and care of RPs patientsFulfill and support business needs including but not limited to approved consulting opportunities (i.e., advisory boards, review of marketing materials, and KOL videos, etc.), speaker's bureau, congress and regional symposiumsSupport the TLLs with assessing HCP Speaker Bureau candidates, manage the day-to-day relationships, coordinate training, and assist with Speaker Program placement, invitations, logistics, and execution of programs across key internal stakeholdersParticipate as a member of a cross-functional brand team to provide feedback on strategy, messaging and tactical execution and novel programming, ideas, and conceptsOperate to the highest standard in alignment with Kiniksa's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and compliance SOPs, ensuring all interactions with KOLs are on-label and consistent with commercial, regulatory, and legal guidelinesQualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of biopharmaceutical sales experienceCardiology experience is a plusAbility to travel up to 80% of the time (4 days a week), accounting for attendance at congresses, field coaching rides with the TLLs, field KOL engagement opportunities and visiting home office to collaborate with cross-functional partnersDemonstrated track record of success leading TLL teamsStrong analytical and strategic acumenSuccessful strategic account management experienceStrong knowledge of the evolving patient and provider landscapeWorking knowledge of compliant and ethical business practicesStrong background in collaborating with internal and external stakeholdersPossesses characteristics that exemplify drive, passion and focus that will translate into significant contributions towards building a global generational company focused on Kiniksa's patients and customersSpecialty or rare disease launch experience is desiredValid driver's licenseSalary is commensurate with experienceKiniksa Benefits Summary - USA
