Position Summary:
Our Tax Department is looking for a Tax Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate should have relevant internship experience, a solid educational background, and a strong interest in pursuing a career in public accounting or tax. The candidate must also have the ability to perform their duties with precision and accuracy.
Successful candidates should have the following:Minimum of one to two years of internship experience in accounting or tax-related fields, preferably public accounting.Has a comprehensive understanding of tax law and knowledge of specific areas, such as individual and corporate taxation of pass-throughs, estate and gift tax, investment advisory, and financial planning.Educational Requirements:
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or any other business-related fields to qualify for the position.Eligible for CPA certification or is in the process of meeting the requirements necessary to obtain the certificationThe candidate must be proficient in Excel and Word, and exposure/experience with tax software, such as CCH Axcess, is preferred.Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills are required.A day-in-the-life basic overview includes:
Prepare and assist with multi-state and federal income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, corporations, partnerships, entities, estates, and trusts.Support complex tax preparation and tax research and assist in research and analysis.Support Senior Staff and Managers with year-end projections and quarterly estimates.Assist with new tax compliance approaches from reviews to analysis.Conduct thorough research and remain up to date with tax laws.Liaise regularly with senior staff, managers, and clients while maintaining strong verbal and written presentation skills.
$60,000 - $70,000 a year
The annual salary target for this job in this market is $60,000 - $70,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the market demand, education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
