Cardiac Renal Unit MS/Tele RN - Nights - Evansville, IN **AUTO OFFER**
NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)
$3,318 Gross Weekly/48 hrs. or $2,506 wk./36 hrs.
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start: 11/18 or 12/2 - Bi-weekly orientation
Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)
Primary location: Evansville, IN
Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7
Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Campuses are 8 miles apart & potential to float to campus 11 miles away. 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.
Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.
Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Tele/M/S, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.
Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)
Patient Population: High acuity - Tele/M/S, Cardiac heavy, (Afib with RVR, Afib, flutter, blocks), heart cath without interventions. CHF, COPD, sepsis, BH/CIWA, post ablations, dialysis.
Skillset: Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers are required to pass a tele test), Initiate/titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, etc.). PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, stables drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), antidysrhythmic (cardizem, tikosyn dosing, amio), nephrostomy tubes.
Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates.
Unit Information: 32 beds. Ratio: Days 1:4-5; NOCs 1:5-7; CN rarely takes patients on days, but takes an assignment on NOC shift.
Unit Strengths: Excellent retention and experience on unit. Manager has been over the unit for 15+ years and has built a strong team! Seeking contracts due to upcoming FMLA for multiple staff.

As a professional practitioner, the RN - Telemetry assumes the responsibility and accountability for delivery of patient care of telemetry patients. The RN - Telemetry demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner, with supervision. The RN - Telemetry exhibits critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care, and consistently performs according to nursing standards while remaining accountable for providing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on telemetry unitPerforms focused interview to identify specific patient needsAssesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s conditionMonitors EKG output and keeps doctors informed of any changesRecords vital signs, including oxygen levels, blood pressure, breathing patterns, etc.Monitors patient progress and updates patient medical records as neededResponds to patients experiencing cardiac painPerforms various diagnostic testsManages and administers medicationMonitors and uses the electrocardiogram, EKG, or ECGEducates patients on cardiac health and communicates with patient’s family when applicableAdministers tests, analyzes lab results, and reports them to the physicianDocuments the patient’s plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventionsIdentifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirementsPerforms interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standardProvides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environmentRevises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventionsDocuments patient’s response to nursing and other interventionsUses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including established prioritiesMonitors safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipmentMinimum Requirements:
