Job Title: Production and Industrial - Manufacturing Planner & Scheduler III
Duration: 6 Months
Location: US - Tewksbury, MA
Onsite8:00 - 4.30 pm
The Production Planner is accountable for creating and maintaining an efficient production schedule for manufacturing operations. The manufacturing operation is predominately low volume with a high mix of products; it includes single and multistep processes and multiple constraints. The Production Planner will develop and own the scheduling process, tools and will work closely with purchasing teams and the manufacturing value stream teams to develop strategies to ensure the production and supply of finished goods for on-time shipments. The Production Planner is central to the daily operation of the business, is expected to network with key internal partners and will own aspects of supply and demand planning (including resource capacity/utilization). Candidate must possess a strong analytical and technical skillset.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule, release, and manage production work orders in accordance with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP)Works with Value Stream Operations to develop attainable schedules, eliminating inefficiencies and improving workflows to meet and improve on time shipment targetsWorks closely with the Value Stream and Procurement to prioritize, expedite and de-expedite work orders based on material availability, work center resources and capacity, and customer demand requirementsCoordinates and communicates requirements with Procurement to ensure that materials are purchased in the appropriate quantities and timeframe to meet production needsIdentifies, takes action to resolve, and communicates critical issues, gaps and constraints to leadership and stakeholders
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university with a concentration in supply chain planning or operations production management preferred.3 to 5 years of experience in a supply chain planning role, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferredProficient in the navigation through and interpretation of data in the ERP systemThorough understanding of manufacturing processes at an operational level of detail.Ability to critically think, problem solve, and work efficiently under pressureStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExperience with Intuitive beneficial; previous experience with SAP or Oracle helpfulProficient in use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PPT,etc.) and other similar softwareLean Six Sigma experience preferred
