Overview
The Production Planner is responsible for developing and optimizing production plans that align with company goals, client demand, capacity constraints and ensures efficient utilization of resources and maintaining supply chain integrity.
This role focuses on planning for a team that serves as a communication hub of inputs to our site plan in a fast-paced CDMO environment. The ideal candidate works and collaborates with internal teams to support commercial production, preventive maintenance, engineering projects and product development scheduling throughout the organization.They must be comfortable independently coordinating and driving alignment cross-functionally throughout the organization. The candidate must be highly detail-orientated, assertive, vocal, forward-minded, and an ambitious self-starter with a strong understanding of MRP, ERP and manufacturing. Public speaking is required.
Responsibilities
• Maintains the master schedule in our ERP and scheduling software establishing sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales orders.• Collaborates with Commercial Services, Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Warehouse and Manufacturing teams to ensure demand verification and alignment in production capabilities.• Monitors and adjusts resource allocation to optimize production efficiency including labor, equipment, and materials.• Performs capacity planning analysis and provides models to inform senior management and stakeholders of insights on risks and opportunities.• Analyzes order and demand accuracy, performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, equipment, and resource requirements.• Maintains effective and clear communication with all stakeholders regarding production schedules and changes as well as confirms status of projects.• Creates, maintains and releases production orders to support the manufacturing shop floor.• Collects and provides KPI's and historic data to support metrics to inform planning decisions and create visibility to drive site improvements.• Provides models of production plans and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders, offering insights into production performance and potential risks in pipeline.• Monitors MRP and coordinates with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components required for production• Leads or participates in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing overall production capabilities and reducing lead times• Identifies opportunities for process improvements in production planning and workflow efficiency.• Performs other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or a related field
required .3-5 years of experience in production planning taking on additional responsibilities, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.Strong understanding of production processes and supply chain dynamics in pharmaceuticals.Proficiency in planning software, ERP systems, ERP data exports, data analysis tools and excel.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team environment. Must be a collaborative team player that works well with others.
