Clinical Pharmacist II--Designated Sterile Compounding PharmacistEssential Functions:1. Supervises the compounding activities of Clinical Pharmacists and Certified PharmacyTechnicians/Internsa. Monitors compliance with established policy and procedures as well as state andoutside regulatory bodies.b. Responsible for staff training and adherencec. In the case of staff shortages, may function in the capacity of Clinical Pharmacist
2. Implements a regulatory compliant pharmacy compounding program.a. Serves as a subject matter expert for pharmacy staff and other MEE departments.b. Operates as the designated compounding pharmacist.c. Accountable as the point person for follow-up and resolution of issues pertaining tosterile and non-sterile compounding.d. Participates in the design and function of proposed cleanroom modifications andconstruction.e. Reviews all cleanroom certification reports, responds to deficiencies immediatelyf. Oversees pharmacy quality assurance measures, including environmental sampling,media fill, and gloved fingertip sampling
3. Serve as a subject matter expert to assist in identifying and mitigating ongoing risk throughreview of data and analytics
4. Reviewing day-to-day deviations, excursions, and concerns in the quality assurance plans toremediate in real-time, performing trend analysis to identify possible risk within MEE.
5. Provide knowledge and support to the compounding areas, with compliance- centric processaudits, root cause analysis, and quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
6. Visit all compounding areas (Longwood and Main Campus) to observe pharmacy-relatedpractices and audit drug-related controls to identify areas of vulnerability, correct deficienciesand ensure consistent standard of practice between both campuses. Oversee and managedatabase programs to facilitate the ongoing compliance of training, procedures, anddocumentation essential to ensure patient safety and mitigate risk to meet the needs of MEE.

Minimum Education and Experience:* Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy required* Minimum 2-4 years' experience in hospital and/or compounding facility* Current (or eligible for) licensure as a pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts* Completion of ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency preferred* Board certification in sterile compounding (BCSCP) preferred* Exceptional aptitude or knowledge may be considered in lieu of experienceEEO Statement Massachusetts Eye and Ear is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer and is committed to providing a workplace free from harassment or discrimination.
