Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Commercial Growth, the Vice President of Business Development will play an important role in influencing the strategy of a growing organization during a pivotal time of innovation and transformation.

You focus on building and maintaining strong partnerships with Medicare Advantage (MA) payers, Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), health systems, and wellness-focused organizations. Essential Functions

Strategic Business Development

Lead Business Expansion : Develop and execute strategies to expand relationships with Medicare Advantage and Medicaid Managed Care payers as well as health systems and other wellness-focused organizations. Identify, negotiate, and secure contracts with these partners to grow market share.Develop Key Partnerships : Build strong, sustainable relationships with C-suite and senior leaders to enhance partnership opportunities.Contract Negotiation and Execution : Lead the end-to-end contracting process, including the identification of mutual goals, contract terms, and financial modeling.Cross-Selling Opportunities : Identify opportunities to integrate and cross-sell the company's products into broader health plans and service offerings.Innovation & Solution Development

Partnership Innovation : Lead the pursuit of innovative partnerships and alliances that drive product differentiation and growth. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and evaluate potential innovation partnerships.Solution Strategy & Development : Collaborate with the Product and senior leadership teams to conceptualize, design, and launch new solutions, especially those that align with the company's mission and vision.Market Trend Analysis : Monitor healthcare trends, regulations, and payer needs to identify opportunities for the development of new, market-relevant solutions.Innovation Projects : Assist in the management of the end-to-end development process for innovative partnership projects, from ideation through execution and launchLeadership & Team Collaboration

Collaborate Across Departments : Work closely with the Commercial Growth, Marketing, Operations, and Legal teams to ensure alignment of business development goals with company objectives.Executive Reporting : Report on progress, challenges, and opportunities to the senior leadership team, providing data-driven insights and recommendations for future growth.Requirements

Competencies & Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Master's degree in business, healthcare administration or a related field.Minimum of 10 years of experience in the health insurance industry.Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.Proven track record of success in business development, with at least 5 years of experience in contracting and relationship management with Medicare Advantage payers and/or Medicaid managed care organizations.Demonstrated innovation ability within the healthcare space.Skills and Competencies:

Understanding of whole person health (wellness, well-being and SDOH), with a strong knowledge of the health industry value chain.Deep understanding of the Medicare Advantage and/or Medicaid Managed Care landscape, including the regulatory, operational, and financial elements.Strong knowledge of health system operations and payer-provider dynamics.Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills with experience fostering long-term partnerships at executive levels.Expertise in negotiating and managing high-value contracts with payers and health systems.Ability to translate market trends and payer needs into actionable business opportunities.Proven leadership abilities, with a strong track record of working cross-functionally across teams and departments.Strong financial and market analysis skills, with the ability to develop and present business cases to senior leadership.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.Personal Attributes:

Starting pay for this position includes a starting base pay range of $190,000 - $260,000.
