Overview

The Occupational Therapist examines and evaluates patients, developing effective treatment plans appropriate for the patient condition. The Occupational Therapist measures patient progress, modifies treatment plans and educates the patient to produce optimal outcomes.Qualifications

Age of Patients Served:All Age Groups.Required Education:Bachelor's degree. Specific course work: Occupational Therapy preferred.Necessary Skills:1. Knowledge of Occupational Therapy theory, procedures, practices and equipment. 2. Good communication skills. Proactive, positive approach to problem solving. 3. Thorough knowledge of possible hazards/necessary precautions/remedial measures in the treatment and care of patients. 4. Ability to assess and implement a treatment programs for simple and complex therapy diagnoses. 5. Computer skills in Microsoft Office suite.Required Licensure/Certifications:Current Florida Occupational Therapy license. BLS from the American Heart AssociationPreferred Experience:Experience in hospital-based rehabilitation services. Splinting/orthotic fabrication is preferred.Required Experience:Less than one year clinical experience in area of job opening (e.g. acute, outpatient, etc.)Preferred Education:Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
