Summary
The Custom Crate Builder will be responsible work in a team environment to package and protect products for shipment and to ensure needed items meet shipping schedules. The Custom Crate Builder must have strong organizational skills to optimize space for shipments and to label products with all necessary shipping information. This role requires attention to detail, organization, and the ability to operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. This position is responsible for building wooden crates, boxes, and pallets with hand tools and/or power tools.
Key Responsibilities
Build and assemble wooden crates, boxes, and palletsPackage and protect products for shipmentOperate forklifts to move crates, boxes, and palletsOrganize and optimize space for shipmentMaintain a clean and organized work environmentLabel products with shipping informationPerform any other duties required to support business operations and facilities maintenance as assigned by Management, whether occasionally or permanently.Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role is preferred but not required.Valid forklift operator's license or the ability to obtain one.Physical strength and endurance to lift and move heavy materials, up to 50 lbs.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
Physical Requirements
The Custom Crate Builder position requires the ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.), operate equipment, and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment.
