OverviewABOUT THE POSITION

Transportation Traffic Engineer | Virginia Beach, VA

Our primary clients are VDOT, various local and county governments, and private developers. Our projects include a wide variety of small to large infrastructure projects including sidewalks, trails, intersections, arterial roadways, urban roadways, interstates and interchanges; traffic signal design and timing; and traffic engineering studies. This position includes working on a diverse set of transportation design and studies throughout this expanding region.

Responsibilities

Work within a team of professionals in developing transportation design and planning solutions for a multitude of multimodal transportation projects

Develop traffic sign, markings, and signal plans

Prepare traffic signal timing plans

Perform traffic engineering studies using Synchro, VISSIM, and other analysis tools

Skills and Attributes

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Comfortable working independently as well as on a team

Detail oriented

Self-motivated

Strong computer skills

Critical thinking

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering

Minimum of 0-1 year of engineering experience, whether through coursework or professional experience

MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience

Demonstrated use of Traffic engineering/operations software such as Synchro/SimTraffic, InRoads, and/or Civil 3D
