Job Description - Business Systems Analyst (226 Days) (RTP20241025-014)DescriptionProvide business analysis and application design to support district student information systems. Must be able to analyze processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions.Analyze customer requests, evaluating various outcomes to formulate recommendations.Develop materials to support the users of PowerSchool and other assigned software applications.Collaborate with various departments within the district to ensure data accuracy.Develop technical documents for assigned applications, including but not limited to process manuals, test protocols, test plans, and other documentation to support implementation.Interface with Help Desk on difficult issues involving PowerSchool SIS, PowerTeacher Pro, online registration system, and other assigned student applications.Evaluate, test, and recommend new opportunities for enhancing current student applications and IT processes.Assist with implementation and support of assigned systems such as Clever, PowerSchool, and online registration.Possess the knowledge, skills, and background to develop thorough unit and regression test plans.Establish and schedule project priorities in consultation with the Manager of Student Applications.Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Student Applications.All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.QualificationsBachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience/certification in a supporting field (Preferred).2 years' related experience analyzing and configuring student information systems.Experience in data collection, analysis, and formulating recommendations to district users.Experience in development of processes to enhance data collection, system implementation, and customer support.Technical skills with various reporting tools (SQL, ORACLE PL/SQL, Microsoft Suite). Knowledge of PEIMS state-reporting elements.Ability to implement, monitor, and complete multiple tasks successfully in accordance with established timeframes with minimal supervision.Ability to design and develop technical documentation for use by technical and non-technical staff.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with support, professional, technical, and non-technical staff.
