An EDI/Applications Manager is a mid-level professional who oversees and manages the electronic data interchange (EDI) systems and operations for an organization. EDI is a method of exchanging business documents and information between different computer systems or networks. EDI managers ensure that the EDI systems are aligned with the organizational goals, meet the standards and expectations of the trading partners, and comply with the relevant regulations and policies. This position will report to the VP of Application Development.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans, develops, and implements the EDI strategy, vision, and roadmap for the organization.
Leads and supervises the EDI team, including hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating the performance of the staff.
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with the internal and external stakeholders, such as business units, IT departments, vendors, and trading partners.
Negotiates and manages the contracts and service level agreements with the EDI service providers and vendors.
Oversees the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of the EDI systems, applications, and integrations.
Monitors and evaluates the EDI systems performance, availability, security, and compliance, and initiates corrective actions as needed.
Ensures that the EDI systems adhere to the industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Resolves complex EDI issues and provides technical support and guidance to the EDI team and users.
Conducts regular audits and reviews of the EDI systems and processes, and recommends improvements and enhancements.
Prepares and presents reports and analyses on the EDI systems status, metrics, and outcomes.
Partner with distribution leadership to develop and maximize cross dock EDI solutions
Maintain ASN compliance with vendors
Stays abreast of the latest EDI trends, technologies, and innovations, and evaluates their applicability and feasibility for the organization.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Required Skills
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
6+ years of experience in EDI systems development, implementation, and management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Extensive knowledge and expertise in EDI standards, formats, protocols, and technologies, such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, AS2, FTP, VAN communication protocols etc.
Familiarity with iSeries and RPG development and data files.
Knowledge of OpenText TrustedLink and BizManager
Experience with INFOR is a plus
Strong project management, budgeting, and planning skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences and levels.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Ability to adapt to changing business needs and technologies.
