Overview:
The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is the nonprofit, applied research division of the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). Founded in 1934, GTRI has grown to more than 2,900 employees, supporting eight laboratories in over 20 locations around the country and performing more than $940 million of problem-solving research annually for government and industry.Project/Unit Description
GTRI’s Signals and Systems Division (SASD) in the Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL) seeks qualified candidates for a Model-Based Systems Engineer within the Operations Research Branch (ORB). This Research Faculty position involves the use of Cameo Systems Modeler and related tools to design, document, and verify complex systems of systems and to develop cutting-edge interfaces between Cameo and GTRI’s in-house modeling and simulation tool suites. This mid- to senior-level Model-Based Systems Engineering position involves blending traditional systems engineering processes with novel software engineering methods and modeling and simulation environments. The successful candidate has a firm grasp of systems engineering concepts and can demonstrate application of them on real-world, complex military systems of systems.Job Purpose
The Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) develops and executes novel system model-based approaches to define, design, analyze, and document system development. The MBSE Researcher applies MBSE tool suites to enable the use of model-based best practices in DoD acquisition and system life cycle support.Key Responsibilities
Lead task teams in the authoring of UAF models capturing stakeholder needs and resulting enterprise architectures, SysML models capturing system requirements and design, and data models capturing system data requirements and design.Direct sponsor engagement and facilitate product or system requirements gathering and analysis.Verify systems engineering product life-cycle including definition, requirements analysis, synthesis, systems analysis and implementation.Conduct product or system design synthesis translating requirements into physical architectures for systems of moderate complexity.Develop technical reports and diagrams detailing product or system attributes in a SysML model.Implement approaches that foster reusability of existing model expressions.Required Minimum Qualifications
BS in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. At least two (2) years of experience with Cameo Systems Modeler or its related family of tools.Familiarity with UPDM.Experience with at least one of the following languages: Python, C++, Java.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.Preferred Qualifications
