We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to support Airframe and Structures development projects at General Atomics-ASI. This engineering position supports the development of aircraft structures as a Project Engineer in the Advanced Aircraft Engineering (AAE) organization. In a Project Engineering capacity, you will be a part of a team that focuses on organizing and coordinating all phases of Airframe/Structures sub-system projects from requirements definition to conceptualization through flight test.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Airframe Product Development/Integration Project LeadershipLead project(s) of moderate size for the Airframe/Structures Sub-SystemFacilitate and coordinate interdependent job functions within the Structures Development IPT (Structural Design, Loads Development, Structural Analysis, Materials and Processes, Manufacturing, and Specialized Tooling activities) Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.Manage the Development/Derivation of Requirements, Internal Statement of Work, and Basis of Estimates for Airframe/Structures Sub-System.Manage technical support for airframe structures suppliers via development/compilation of Supplier SOW’s and Technical Data Packages, and technical coordination, risk management, and issue resolution.Working through engagements with functional leadership, build the team to execute the projectDevelop, communicate, and facilitate the execution of project priorities and goalsDevelop Project Tactical Execution Plans with buy in from SME’sAlign with Program Integrated master scheduleManage/Throttle Project Scope and Budget.Airframe Product Manufacturing Operation/Transition to ProductionCoordinate with Manufacturing Work Centers, Program Management, and Supplier Management for Make/Buy decisionsFacilitate Transition to Production and flow of design data to manufacturingCoordinate Design For Manufacturing and AssemblySpecialized Tooling Design Requirements Coordination with ManufacturingCoordination of Engineering/Liaison Support for Product Build and Qualification TestingInteracts with internal and external engineering and project/program staff at various levels concerning resolution of technical/requirements issues.Provides documentation and makes technical presentations as required.May represent the Advanced Aircraft Engineering Department in communicating/resolving technical issues associated with specific projects.Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.Job Qualifications:Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, seven or more years of experience with a master's degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective interface with other departments and/or professionals.Experience with Microsoft Project and Excel.Experience with design, stress analysis, tooling design, materials/process development or manufacturing of primary composite structures.Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.Salary:

$105,890 - $189,545
