We are currently hiring a Project Engineer (PE) to lead Technology Development related programs within the Agile Mission Systems (AMS) Group. In this capacity, the PE will contribute to a wide variety of applied physics programs ranging from low Technology Readiness Level (TRL) concepts, through high TRL fielded systems. Areas of focus include the development of novel RF systems in High Frequency (HF) Communications, signal processing algorithms in machine learning and signal management, and optical-based systems and physics for free-space laser optical communication for air, space, and sea platforms. Further, the PE may lead programs to co-develop cutting-edge Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) applications as well as alternate navigation solutions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead and develop programs in the areas of optical communications, RF systems, position navigation and timing (PNT), high-frequency (HF) communications, machine learning, and/or sensor development for land, maritime, airborne, and space platforms.Influence and drive the technical approach across a wide spectrum of Customers and industry partners.Perform system analysis, trades, generate requirements, develop system architectures and designs.Contribute to white papers, concept studies, and proposals.Interface with customers, contractors, and engineering groups assigned to projects.Support the development of test plans and manage the integration, verification, and validation of sensors and systems.Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special requirements.Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.Develop program plans, estimates, and schedules and execute programs in accordance with those plans.Represent the company at technical reviews and system-level integration activities.Perform other duties as assigned.We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.

Job Qualifications:Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, seven or more years of experience with a master’s degree, or four or more years of experience with a PhD. may substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.Demonstrates technical expertise in the application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership.Must have experience developing one or more of the following areas: laser systems, mechanical enclosures, algorithms and signal processing, machine learning.Must have systems engineering experience.Experience in land-based and aircraft payload integration is desirable.Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout a fast-paced, R&D environment.Must have strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with other departments, customers, government representatives, and/or professionals.Must be customer focused and able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment.Salary:

$105,890 - $189,545
