Summary
Requires professional and communications skills needed to coordinate Air Force efforts with both DoD and non-DoD partners. Responsible for maintaining technical familiarity and awareness of Air Force computer, network and enclave architectures to ensure proper implementation across the Air Force. Develop and apply advanced hardware and systems methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems. Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity. Review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects. Recommend corrections in technical application and analysis. Evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Provide technical consultation to other organizations.
Primary Responsibilities
Ability to develop strategic concepts for meeting sustainment and modernization objectives as they relate to public key infrastructure integration into existing and future network architectures.
Performs professional technical work which is complex in nature and requires in-depth knowledge and diversified application of systems engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices, and techniques generally used to solve problems in computer security, encryption, and information assurance.
Ensure execution of systems engineering processes across the lifecycle.
Ability to assess new technologies and capabilities that advance the Air Force's identity solution and information access decisions.
Development, review, and verification of technical requirements.
Provide tier 4 level administrative support.
Ability to establish working relationships with organizations supporting PKI and Identity Solution capabilities.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary capacity under varying project management approaches.
Ability to multitask in order to manage problems and come up with innovative solutions.
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network and software issues.
Ability to rapidly adjust to changing tasks and complete them successfully.
Ability to provide excellent customer service to provide technical support and guidance to customers.
Maintain awareness of technologies, policies, processes and procedures associated with cyber security, information assurance, public key infrastructure, and public key enabling.

Additional responsibilities include providing Information Assurance (IA) subject matter expertise in the areas of policy guidance, product support, implementation strategies, and operational process analysis in support of the Public Key Infrastructure, Common Access Card, and Identity Management activities in the Air Force.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate/coordinate AF PKI positions with PKI subject matter experts and leaders within both DoD and non-DoD partners.
Ability to work with a wide variety of contributors in a fast-paced and demanding environment is essential.
Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Must be able to evaluate policy and guidance, technology advancements in Public Key Infrastructure/Information Assurance/Identity Solutions/Information Access and operational requirements to formulate implementation strategies in the AF.
Strong customer focus to positively affect internal and external PKI customers.
Awareness of technologies, policies, processes and procedures associated with cyber security, information assurance, public key infrastructure, and public key enabling.
Knowledge of the DoD and AF PKI certificate issuance process.
Knowledge of the standards, practices, and processes applicable to computer security, encryption and IT in the DoD.
Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Required.
12 years additional experience and/or Master's Degree preferred.
12 years progressive experience in information technology systems integration and analysis required.
IT Certifications (e.g. CISSP, Sec+, MCSE) preferred.
5+ Experience of Air Force and/or DoD network configurations and components preferred.
5+ Experience supporting the fielding of new Public Key Infrastructure/Information Assurance/Identity Solutions/Information Access associated software or hardware preferred.
Experience in drafting highly technical documentation, briefs and reports required.
Experience in supporting the fielding of new PKI or IA associated software or hardware preferred.
Knowledge of DoD Acquisition and Risk Management processes preferred.
Required licenses or certifications
Possess and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
IAT level II Certification: Security+CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GISCP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP, and relevant operating system.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
