Description: Our direct end client is looking for an Azure Cloud Engineer for a 12+ month contract. This position can be remote.

Position Overview:As a Cloud Engineer II, you will be responsible for working independently and in a team environment to assist in the design, implementation, and support of the public cloud as well as the private cloud infrastructure – compute, storage, and virtualization.

Project Overview:Moving new workloads to the Azure Cloud, running workloads in Infrastructure as Cloud, knowledgebase in best practices. Not a lift and shift, bringing new Apps to the Cloud.

Team/Department:

Cloud Team. It is 2 people currently, overloaded and need high-level skills to come in and add value.

Responsibilities:Assist in design, implementing and administration of Kwik Trip’s public cloud environment.Lead the management, configuration, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure and resources.Configure and manage monitoring, alerting, and reporting of key performance indicators in Kwik Trip’s cloud environments.Manage security updates for assigned servers and public cloud resources.Assist in design, implementation, and administration of public and private cloud, storage, and virtual environments.Perform scheduled maintenance and updates on the public and private cloud, storage, and virtualization infrastructure.Design, develop, and operate cloud database services, APIs, microservices, replication, & scaling or distributed databases.Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure using IaC and automation scripts.Experience with technical analysis of existing software workloads and the ability to define a technical migration roadmap for project work.Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to cloud services.

Required Experience:Must have:Associate degree in Information Systems/Network Systems Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.4 or more years of experience managing hardware, storage, and virtualization infrastructure.4 or more years of relevant experience (Microsoft Azure Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service).Advanced Knowledge and Skills Required:Knowledge and experience deploying Microsoft Azure Security: Firewalls, Log Analytics, key vaults, network security groups, etc.Microsoft Azure Services: Front Door Services, Application Gateways, Application Insight, Virtual Machines, app services, etc.Microsoft Azure Storage (Blob, File, Data Lake).Microsoft Azure Networking; vnets, vpns, and ExpressRoute.Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.Agile Scrum Methodology.Atlassian Software including JIRA.Infrastructure as Code.CI/CD and DevSecOps Concepts.Fundamental understanding of network attached storage.Understanding of data center racking and cabling.Fundamental understanding of data center hardware.Fundamental networking knowledge and skills.Experience managing VMware virtual environments.Effective communication and customer service skills.Strong analytical skills.Skilled in diagnosing and resolving cloud platform, hardware, and software issues.Ability to perform at an elevated level within a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.Ability to work independently, and as well as in a team environment.Ardent desire to establish and meet aggressive deadlines.

Even better if you have:Experience with NetApp, Cisco ACI and Nutanix technologies.Experience with Amazon Web Services.Experience with Google Cloud Platform.Experience with Linux Operating systems (Redhat, Suse, Ubuntu).Microsoft Certifications (AZ-104, SC-300, SC-400) are highly desired.
