Job Description SummaryA Configuration Management Specialist (aka Configuration Manager) is responsible for actively managing engineering design data throughout a product's lifecycle in accordance with program requirements. This position will support GE Aviation Engineering Power groups located in Pompano Beach, FL and Bohemia, NY.In this role, you will assist with providing consistency between the product and its configuration information and establishment of Configuration Management Plan (CMP) for assigned programs. Product categories include documents, hardware, software, tools, materials, processes, and systems. Primarily functioning as a change administrator in accordance with the 5 Pillars of CM, this role ensures any changes to product information are identified, approved, verified, and recorded in sufficient detail to produce and support the product throughout its life cycle.Roles & Responsibilities
Chairperson for Configuration Control Board (CCB)Process and monitor engineering changesEvaluate/implement Design & Bill of Material changes & coordinate the introduction of the change within engineering and manufacturing environmentTechnical point of contact for day-to-day activities related to processing both hardware and software assetsProvide back-up support for PM / Data Managers for Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRL) & other CM/DM dutiesMonitor and update data in company PDM/MRP environmentSupport Physical/Functional Configuration AuditsSupport CM Supervisor as requiredTravel as requiredRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Configuration Management.High School Diploma with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Configuration Management.Desired Characteristics
Strong software confirmation management experience with DO-254 is strongly preferred.Experience with Windchill Product Data Management (PDM) or other Enterprise data management toolPrior experience managing commercial and military programsAble to read engineering design blueprints and schematicsExperience in a Military/Aviation Engineering environmentClear, concise oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal/ customer service skillsProficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to learn quickly and deal with a changing environmentThis role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.The base pay range for this position is $90,800 - $135,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
