HICON Political Advisor Subject Matter Expert (SME), NATO-JWC - (1628)
Yorktown Systems Group is seeking a qualified HICON Political Advisor Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support NATO’s Joint Warfare Center’s (JWC) high priority exercises. JWC’s mission is to deliver high value exercises to NATO Command Structure and Force Structure entities and organizations in accordance with direction and guidance received from Allied Command Transformation (ACT) as well as SACEUR’s Annual Guidance for Exercise (SAGE) and the Military Training Evaluation Plan (MTEP). The provider will be required to develop, produce, deliver, and archive new settings and scenarios, and update/review and deliver existing settings and scenarios, including necessary consultation that complements and supports the work carried out by JWC’s Scenario Branch.Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:Higher Control (HICON) acts as a response cell during the operational conduct phases of JWC-directed exercises by representing command levels/echelons above the training audience’s command level/echelon.HICON staff develops the corresponding input into the MEL/MIL development process based on the setting and scenario developed by JWC’s Scenario Branch, and the identified/applicable exercise and training objectives.Reports to/is tasked by: CHIEF HICON during operational conduct phases, and Deputy Chief HICON during MEL/MIL development.Produce and deliver fictitious military-political documentation during MEL/MIL development and operational conduct phases of the exercise.Produce and deliver military-political MEL/MIL story-lines, incidents, and injects in support of identified, applicable exercise and training objectives.Replicate/role-play identified personal interaction between the military-political and strategic level.Provide political advice to HICON cell.Assist HICON staff in the “Coach/Mentor”-function with regards to the training of POLAD staffs at the strategic and operational level.Be prepared to perform additional duties as directed by Chief HICON.Required Qualifications:Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in political science, international relations or equivalent.NATO or national Defence College Graduate (or equivalent).Three (3) years of working experience within the last 10 years in a national or NATO Command at strategic or military-political level.Ability to compose, edit, contribute to and comprehend collaborative texts in advanced English language reflecting the terminology and form of the respective subject matter area of expertise at senior staff level.Familiarity with NATO's doctrine, policy, processes, arrangements and procedures within the described task portfolio and level.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook) and TOPFAS and JEMM.Held the rank of OF-5 (in a National or NATO military position) or A-4 equivalent (in NATO or civilian governmental position).Demonstrated proficiency in English as defined in STANAG 6001.Clearance:
Must possess an active NATO or U.S. SECRET or higher security clearance.Location:
