Systems Administrator
to be based out of the company’s

corporate office. Covia Energy is in the process of separating into a standalone company from Covia Corp., which will focus on industrial silica applications.The
System Administrator
will be hands-on in a role that is designed to install, administer, and optimize company servers, network hardware, and related components to achieve high performance of the information systems that support core organizational functions. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server and network hardware environment.Key Accountabilities:Ability to perform a wide range of system administration duties on database, application, and other servers including install, debug, maintain, upgrade, and general support.Responsible for day-to-day maintenance including user account management and security, installation of systems and software, installation of system patches, and documenting systems, configurations, and operational instructions.Evaluate, test, and deploy software and hardware upgrades to the server infrastructure.Proactive monitoring of servers, applications, and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and service level agreements.Perform regular and on-demand system backups and recoveries; monitor for daily success.Interface with vendors for procurement and maintenance of IT infrastructure.Work closely with the IT team to provide end-user support and issue resolution as an escalation from our Service Desk.Create and maintain documentation for processes and procedures.Participate in an on-call after-hours rotation for user support.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related computer field required.A required minimum 5-7 years’ experience in Systems Administration, server hardware assembly, testing, and deployment.Technical Vendor Certifications (Microsoft Azure, VMware) are preferred.Highly self-motivated and directed; logical and efficient with strong problem-solving skills; ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment under minimum supervision.Experience in installing, provisioning, and managing servers in a Virtualized environment; VMware experience preferred.Advanced knowledge of installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting of Azure Services, Office365 Administration, Intune, Autopilot, Domain Controller, Windows Server 2016, 2019 +, Application, Database, Web, Print, and File servers. Experience with IIS, SQL Server, SCOM, and PowerShell highly desirable.Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently.Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive internal and external information is required.Excellent communication skills, verbal & written, as well as receptive listening skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.Well-developed interpersonal skills; must be tactful, mature, flexible, and customer service oriented.Covia Energy is committed to fostering diversity and inclusion in our workforce.
