Overview:

JHNA is seeking a Senior System Engineer with experience as a Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) practitioner for Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR).

Come join a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that is focused on providing a broad range of services that help make us "The Warfighter to Engineer Interface". Our services include Mission Engineering, System Engineering and DT&E in such development phases as: planning, execution, and assessment of Developmental or Operational Test & Evaluation; technology evaluation and prioritization; and operational and system model views. JHNA offers highly competitive benefit packages and a culture that fosters teamwork and collaboration all while supporting the Warfighter!

Roles/Responsibilities:

The Senior Engineer will apply scientific, mathematics and statistical methodologies to the study and analysis of technological problems in relation to engineering and scientific development of processes, systems, and equipment. The focus of the role will be developing and implementing MBSE techniques to support Department of Defense (DoD) weapon systems.

Design and develop MBSE solutions for acquisition programs and for the transformation of existing legacy systems using previously developed system engineering documentation.

Improve standardization and interoperability in a digitally integrated modeling environment while protecting classification and Intellectual Property (IP) data rights.

Develop and improve best practices for MBSE methodology and ontology associated with SysML modeling tools capability, customized project profiles, and advanced computational mathematical tools.

Guide or aid in development and implementation of system integration plans, digital transformation plans, data management and integration planning, and other SE documentation.

Develop and improve modeling processes specific to stakeholder needs based on MBSE methodology and ontology best practices. Included is the development of validation rules to ensure conformance to project modeling standards.

Develop, review, and adjudicate MBSE deliverables for internal and external stakeholders; identify models with capabilities that may be leveraged across the stakeholder's enterprise.

Support workforce development by developing and delivering training material that captures the continual evolution of MBSE best practices and innovations.

MS or MA degree in operations research, computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, or engineering.

Allowable Substitution: a BS or BA in operations research, computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, or engineering and an additional 4 years' experience (total of 14 years' experience).

10 or more years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering or operations analysis position.

Experience in building and assessing systems engineering and architecture models using modeling methodologies to conduct technical assessments and recommendations that inform key technical decisions.

Apply (hands-on) Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques to capture structure, behavior, requirements, interfaces, and parametric aspects of the system both logical and physical.

Express system elements and artifacts using requirements diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, state machine diagrams, use case diagrams, block definition diagrams, internal block diagrams, package diagrams, and parametric diagrams.

Experience using SysML tools such as Cameo (No Magic), Rhapsody, or other MBSE tools.
