TS/SCI w/ CI POLY Linux System Administrator

As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining system health and security posture, directly supporting customer mission-critical capabilities. You will work closely with Avalanche program developers and system engineers, as well as engineers on other programs that provide capabilities hosted in the Avalanche-supported environment, to research issues, determine root causes, and implement solutions to system problems. The Avalanche program employs Agile methodology in managing work.This position requires US Citizenship with a current TS/SCI with CI Poly Government Security Clearance.

Required Skills:

6 years of experience directly related to Linux System Administration, including installation and maintenance of software and hardware.Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux server (RHEL 6 & 7) based systems with minimal support, to include patching, creating RPM packages, performance tuning, networking, user management, and security.Experience with BASH scripting.Experienced using Jira, Ansible, and Red Hat IPA Server.In-depth experience with the deployment and administration of systems in Amazon Web Services (AWS)/Commercial Cloud Services (C2S).Experience using Agile/Scrum development methodology (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).Must be able to support occasional after-hour maintenance.Must have an active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IA Level II Certification or higher.Experience with configuration and maintenance of a Kubernetes or similar containerized environment.AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification.Experience administering Amazon Linux servers (Amazon Linux 1 and 2).Experience with operating system, security, and application logging technologies.

Desired Skills:

Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS, sendmail, and LDAP.Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail-oriented.Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency.Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors.Communication and diplomatic skills.Experience with the configuration and maintenance of host-based security tools such as McAfee.Experience troubleshooting Splunk performance issues / Opening support cases with Splunk.Experience monitoring the Splunk infrastructure for capacity planning and optimization. Troubleshooting log feeds, field extractions, search time, etc.The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Splunk architecture, configuration, and management.
