Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering internship position in Becker, MN, Dexter, MN, and in Rolla, ND. The role requires being onsite. The internship requires working from May 2025 - September 2025. Applicants must be able to relocate for several months to work at the Sherco Solar Project Site, Pleasant Valley Wind and Borders Wind Projects or already live within a commutable distance from the work sites.Mechanical or Electrical Engineering internship position in Shakopee, MN. The role requires being onsite. The internship requires working from May 2025 - September 2025. Applicants must be able to relocate for several months to work at the Blue Lake Repowering Site, or already live within a commutable distance from the work site.Mechanical or Electrical Engineering internship position in Wheaton, MN. The role requires being onsite. The internship requires working from May 2025 - September 2025. Applicants must be able to relocate for several months to work at the Wheaton Repowering Site, or already live within a commutable distance from the work site.Work with the engineering staff to support capital work at the project sites. Will perform entry level engineering analysis doing tasks supporting both project management and construction. Tasks include submittal coordination, drawing support, construction planning and oversight, safety observations, and vendor outreach and coordination. Through practical field experience and mentoring, successful candidate will gain significant professional and technical skills.This will be a summer opportunity with the potential to extend into a school semester. The candidate should be able to work a full schedule during the summer. If the intern works during the school year, their hours should be part-time.Minimum Requirements
Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Constructional program.A Junior or above as of Fall 2024.Graduating Seniors as of Spring 2025 (not continuing to Graduate School) are not eligible to participate.Must have reliable personal transportation and be able to travel to the project sites on a daily basis.As a leading combination electricity and natural gas energy company, Xcel Energy offers a comprehensive portfolio of energy-related products and services to 3.4 million electricity and 1.9 million natural gas customers across eight Western and Midwestern states.
