Software Development Engineer Manager .
The position will support dynamic, agile projects implementing a SecDevOps approach across all phases of the software development lifecycle, to include design, development, test, and operational support/user feedback. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently as well as within a team setting on the design, implementation, and maintenance/troubleshooting of new and existing software solutions, primarily within the satellite command and control (C2) domain space. Knowledge of Container and Cloud implementations is a plus.
This Software Development Engineer Manager position is a great opportunity based in Colorado Springs, CO.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Candidate must show ability to effectively communicate with various team members, customers, as well as communicate with vendor support.
Candidate must be able to leverage modern industry standard technologies in the engineered solutions and quickly and efficiently generate estimates and status of design efforts.
This candidate may be expected to support more than one project at a time, bringing their knowledge and experience to help not only their primary project but others project address critical issues and challenges, and guide them to an effective resolution.
Effectively work with a cross functional engineering team.
Travel as necessary to support system integration, testing, and customer meetings.
Be a strong team player and leader to the project team and to the organization.
Willing to travel to provide customer support (typically 10% travel).
Required to either be able to obtain a TS/SCI, or currently have a TS/SCI.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, or related degree) and at least 10 years relevant work experience (willing to consider a range of work and educational levels).
Java and C/C++ programming (including network, multi-threaded, client-server programming where applicable) on Linux platforms.
Active
Secret Security Clearance
with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
C++ backend implementations, driver development.
Experience in addressing software race conditions.
Batch File, Python Scripting.
Solid understanding of relational database applications and creation of expressions.
Proven Docker/Container & Kubernetes design and implementation knowledge and experience.
Proven ability to design software solutions to complex engineering problems & accurately estimate the effort to get them accomplished.
Proven ability to lead teams in software development, and mentor/coach newer software engineers.
Proven ability and experience in defining and developing requirements with customers, defining/architecting a solution to satisfy them, and developing the test methodology to verify them.
Ability to learn, take ownership, and deliver high-quality results in an unstructured environment.
Experience using Atlassian tools and working in an Agile software development environment.
CI/CD Pipeline Experience.
A self-starter and able to work in a fast paced execution environment, with small and large engineering project teams (an absolute must).
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience and or knowledge of OpenShift, Kafka, AWS, Azure, implementations.
Basic knowledge of satellite operations, signal processing, digital communications theory, network communications.
Oracle database experience.
Unix Shell Scripting.
Structured Query Language (SQL).
Lead Software Architecture Design experience.
RHEL 7.x & 8.x experience.
TS/SCI.
