Data Governance and Catalog Analyst

This is a remote position.

**On-Site Requirements:

On-boarding will require 1-2 visits to Patuxent River, MD for candidates that are local to the area. Candidates out of state will be onboarded virtually. Training will be virtual and telework maximized/permitted to the greatest extent possible; however, for local candidates, training/tasking may require on-site work a few hours per week. Future on-site/telework requirements/schedules may change as additional client direction is received.

Essential Functions:

Awareness of data availability within each environment (SDR on-premise, LOG IT Cloud, Advana Jupiter).

Awareness of data security policies and protections applicable to each data set.

Knowledge of and utilization of data transformation and loading tools within on-premise, LOG IT Cloud, and Advana Jupiter.

Able to analyze and complete missing descriptions for tables/columns in datasets for cataloging automation.

Other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

At least three (3) years’ experience of job duties and essential functions.

Must be a proactive self-starter.

Must be customer service oriented, responding quickly to customer emails, tracking, and following up on all assigned tasking.

Excellent communication skills.

Excellent SQL skills.

Strong understanding of Naval Aviation Data – Maintenance, Flight, Inventory, Supply, Maritime, XRAYS, etc.

Be able to interpret ERDs (Entity Relationship Diagrams) that explain how the database tables are linked together and understand database architecture, Data Marts, etc.

Cloud experience (Clusters, Databricks, iquery, Teradata Native Object Store, AWS S3, GovCloud, Python, Jupiter).

Security Clearance:Must have active secret clearance and be eligible for Top Secret Clearance (SSBI). Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.

Education:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Mathematics, Management or Relevant Technical Discipline.
