Employment Application for IT Operations Specialist
As an IT Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for:Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation related to technology assets and configurations.Creating project plans, designing, and implementing solutions.Evaluating, creating, requesting, and presenting technical specifications and requirements for purchasing technology products via the quote procedure.Participating in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and on-call availability as needed.Performing IT system administration duties including hardware installations, system/application installations, patch management, incident resolution, log analysis, etc.Configuring, testing, and maintaining networking equipment and services, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN.Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving network problems including network connectivity and traffic utilization using available network tools in a timely fashion.Providing infrastructure services such as storage networking, operating system, network security, directory services, server virtualization, system backup and restore, system and network monitoring, application installation, and configuration.Providing technical support to front-line support technicians.Assisting with monthly reports and recommendations for clients.Interfacing with third-party vendors as a liaison between client and vendor.Staying current with technology offerings, information, changes, and updates.Basic Qualifications:Eight years of prior IT experience. Prior experience working for a service provider is a plus.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate by phone or in person.Demonstrated written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to achieve successful outcomes in handling difficult situations.Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills.Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.Proven background of providing great customer service.Shows initiative and acts independently to resolve problems.Ability to work independently, prioritize existing projects, and proactively determine areas requiring additional attention, monitoring, or maintenance.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on projects to completion.Works effectively both as a team member and independently.Effectively utilizes tools to resolve issues and escalates appropriately.Network configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting experience are a must.Hands-on experience with all forms of common networking, workstation and server virtualization solutions, cybersecurity, backup systems, and line of business applications.Other Qualifications:Appropriate vendor certifications are preferred (Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, HP, EC-Council, etc.)BS in Management of Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Science Degree is a plus.If you are looking for a career with a dynamic, growing company, GigaParts is the place!
