NPI Project Engineer

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate for a HW NPI team. The NPI role is a highly visible position within the Product Delivery organization that interacts with nearly every organization within Lexmark. The successful candidate manages a product from cradle to grave, developing skills in engineering, project management, quality management, supplier relationships, and business acumen.

Job Duties

Manage a multi-cultural, multi-discipline team of Quality, Assembly, Process, and Manufacturing engineers to develop manufacturing lines and processes for building and testing laser printers and multi-function devices.

Influence Design for Manufacturing (DFMA) and Lean manufacturing processes to achieve quality, flexibility, and capacity requirements of the new product.

Work extensively to coordinate with the Product Development teams and Contract Manufacturing Partners to ensure all elements are in place for all product development builds.

Provide leadership and management of development builds at the Contract Manufacturing partner's site in China.

Ensure quality launches of new products by leading the transition management team (TMT), coordinating with all business units involved with the impending launch to resolve any open issues prior to launch.

Actively manage the production ramp and issue resolution to all issues impacting continuity of supply.

Identify and report obstacles and impediments to successful execution of program objectives throughout the product life cycle.

Coordinate with senior management and maintain knowledge on product status and prepare status reports.

Support the Contract Manufacturing partner in sustained production on continuous improvement, quality management, and cost reduction activities.

Manage the introduction and management of OEM derivative products.

Successful candidates must

Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interface with diverse internal teams and Contract Manufacturers.

Thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Have the ability to balance technical and business trade-offs in the decision process.

Have strong project management skills with the ability to drive teams to defined objectives.

Possess good working knowledge of Lean principles and application.

Demonstrate ability to work effectively with a worldwide team.

Minimum Requirements

BS in an Engineering discipline with a minimum of 10 years experience.

Proven track record of project management of complex products/projects (product launch experience is a plus).

Willingness and ability to travel to China 1-2 times per year with a 2-3 week duration.
