$60-$80KResponsibilities:
A successful NPI engineer is dynamic, driven, organized, and detail-oriented; excels in program/project management; communicates with ease at all levels; thrives in an ambitious environment and is adept at facilitating actions and resolving conflicts.Strong customer interaction skills, ability to work closely and efficiently with a wide variety of interpersonal styles.Plan and execute on multiple New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. Establish standards for Design for Manufacturing and lead the definition of manufacturing process requirements for new contract business.Provide leadership in defining/communicating Operations' requirements early in the NPI cycle.Make recommendations to management, engineers, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and process improvements to facilitate production processes with a thorough understanding of surface mounted electronic assemblies and all the processes involved in their manufacturing.Manage the stabilization of NPI transitions: evaluate in-process quality data and drive corrective action as required to maximize product manufacturability and to mitigate business risks.Identify, design, manufacture, and install customized fixtures for production and material handling.Prioritize projects and establish timeframes and project cost estimates for review and approval.Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow; and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.Design appropriate equipment and coordinate the electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.Prepare drawings and parts requirements and determine the most cost-effective means of production (in-house or vendor outsource).Initiate and promote continuous improvement principles of Lean Manufacturing throughout the organization to reduce cost and increase productivity.The work performed in this job can only be done on site; therefore attendance is an essential function of the job.Education / Desired Skills and Experience:
Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or similar degree and 1-5 years of experience; or at least five years of related experience.Software requirements: Microsoft Office.Knowledge of electronic components, part numbers, and values.Ability to research parts and/or other information.Ability to create BOM's with minimal support.Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes; assembly through test.Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.Working knowledge of FMEA.
