A successful candidate is expected to be active in both departments. We are particularly interested in scholars working on the intersection of linguistics and theoretical foundations of large language models, including topics related to generalization, compositionality, interpretability, reliability, and cognitive modeling.Desired qualifications include the ability to teach pertinent classes in both linguistics and statistics. Mentoring of undergraduate students, supervision of graduate students, involvement in curricular development, and performance of university service are expected.
