Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior-Level Information Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess specialized knowledge, skillsets, and experience in creating, sustaining, modernizing, and integrating enterprise-wide compute, storage, and backup solutions. This role requires expertise in utilizing new techniques and software-defined approaches for Infrastructure and Platform as a Service (IaaS/PaaS) structures. The candidate must be familiar with the latest industry tools and technology supporting the management and operations of data processing, storage, and backup, and must utilize technical knowledge and industry standards in designing and configuring IT systems in on-premises datacenters supporting infrastructure, business processes, and operations.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage enterprise-wide compute, storage, and backup solutions.
Utilize new techniques and software-defined approaches for IaaS and PaaS structures.
Ensure the sustainability, modernization, and integration of IT systems.
Stay current with the latest industry tools and technology for data processing, storage, and backup.
Apply technical knowledge and industry standards in designing and configuring IT systems.
Support the management and operations of on-premises datacenters.
Develop and present complex written products and oral briefings for and to senior leaders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer’s infrastructure, business processes, and operations.
Maintain and update documentation related to system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience as an IT Systems Engineer (SE) with documented experience supporting SE Processes and associated Technical Processes which include: Requirements Tradeoff, Architecture Design, Cost Estimation, Technical Assessments, Technical Planning, Configuration Control Boards, Capabilities Based Assessments, Integrated Baseline Review, Lifecycle Sustainment Planning, Information Assurance/Cybersecurity, Requirements Traceability, Statement of Objectives or Work, Systems Engineering Plan, Work Breakdown Structure, and Technical Audits.
A Master’s degree in any engineering discipline or Computer Science may be substituted for five (5) years of SE experience.
A Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline or Computer Science may be substituted for three (3) years of SE experience.
Project Management skills with a minimum of two (2) years of monitoring, managing, and assessing progress of complex IT projects.
A minimum of one (1) year of documented training or experience relevant to designing, deploying, and maintaining systems and capabilities that comply with DoD cybersecurity policies and regulations. In lieu of specific DoD cybersecurity policies and regulations, candidate can articulate training and experience with relative Commercial / Industry level cybersecurity policies and regulations.
Proven experience in creating, sustaining, modernizing, and integrating enterprise-wide compute, storage, and backup solutions.
Expertise in IaaS and PaaS structures.
Strong technical knowledge and experience in designing and configuring IT systems in on-premises datacenters.
Active Entry-Level Information Systems technical certification (e.g., CompTIA Server+, INCOSE ASEP, Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, SNIA Certified Storage Networking Expert, or similar).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
