Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior-Level Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess specialized knowledge, skillsets, and experience in modernizing, refreshing, and integrating new networking capabilities at an enterprise level. This role requires expertise in both physical and virtual networking, utilizing new techniques and software-defined networking (SDN) constructs. The candidate must be familiar with the latest switching and routing technologies and models for deployment, including SDN, metrics and monitoring solutions, and automated techniques for network management, configuration, and patching.
Additionally, the candidate should have associated knowledge in related networking technologies, including IP Address Management (IPAM), load-balancers, firewalls, proxies, and network taps. An active entry-level networking vendor certification (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Juniper Junos Associate) or higher-level certification is required. A Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) is also required.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level networking solutions.
Modernize and refresh existing networking infrastructure with new capabilities.
Integrate new networking technologies, both physical and virtual, into the enterprise environment.
Utilize software-defined networking (SDN) constructs to enhance network performance and management.
Implement metrics and monitoring solutions to ensure network reliability and performance.
Develop and apply automated techniques for network management, configuration, and patching.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest switching and routing technologies and models.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise networking operations.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network infrastructure.
Maintain and update documentation related to network configurations, processes, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience as an IT Systems Engineer (SE) with documented experience supporting SE Processes and associated Technical Processes.
A Master’s degree in any engineering discipline or Computer Science may be substituted for five (5) years of SE experience.
A Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline or Computer Science may be substituted for three (3) years of SE experience.
Project Management skills with a minimum of two (2) years of monitoring, managing, and assessing progress of complex IT projects.
A minimum of one (1) year of documented training or experience relevant to designing, deploying, and maintaining systems and capabilities that comply with DoD cybersecurity policies and regulations.
Proven experience in modernizing, refreshing, and integrating new networking capabilities at an enterprise level.
Expertise in both physical and virtual networking technologies.
Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) constructs and related technologies.
Experience with metrics and monitoring solutions for network performance.
Proficiency in automated techniques for network management, configuration, and patching.
Knowledge of related networking technologies, including IP Address Management (IPAM), load-balancers, firewalls, proxies, and network taps.
