The Systems Administrator III for Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) will study the needs of departments and establish priorities for system and network design, support, and implementation. This work will develop the organization’s industrial control systems (ICS/DCS), with respective networks and applications. This role will possess an advanced knowledge of OT, ICS, technical concepts, ideas, practices, and procedures. Additionally, the Systems Administrator III will become a subject matter expert within a team that owns the processes and procedures associated with VMware, Citrix, Windows, and M365 environments.Essential Functions:Administer and provide overall support and maintenance of operating systems, servers, storage, compute, and remote access for all OT/SCADA systems, ensuring adequate response times for production support.

Establish and document procedures to ensure data and network integrity, including system fail-over and backup/recovery of reliable backup services.

Conduct and support hardware and software audits of servers for compliance with established IT/OT standards, policies, configuration guidelines, and procedures.

Provide support to vendors, contractors, partners, applications, and system owners as necessary.

Maintain current operating systems and patch versions that comply with vendor and TSA requirements.

Carry out research and development on new products, technologies, and operating systems as required to remain current on emerging technologies and their potential application in our technology ecosystem.

Support established security (TSA) and IT/OT activities including Change Management; Release Management; Incident Management; Problem Management; and Asset Management.

Participate in on-call rotation, providing off-hours support as needed to perform necessary job functions and ensure service delivery, including travel to SJI IT/OT locations which may be needed up to 10%.

Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

QualificationsRequired Skills:Experienced in VMware ESXi, Vsphere, and VCenter including creating virtual machines, templates, patching, familiarity with snapshots, and routine operations such as datastore creation and removal processes.

Knowledge of Linux, VMware, Windows, and Citrix environments, with experience building, troubleshooting, and managing Windows 2016/2019 Server: Linux operating systems.

Strong administration skills, troubleshooting skills and ability to work a problem to completion.

Ability to travel to regional SJI, SJG, ETG sites to establish relationships and support OT/SCADA operations, outages, troubleshooting, upgrades, and patches.

Capability to support the company with outages, troubleshooting, communications, notifications, projects, and ticket management, which includes after hours work when needed, available and agreed to.

Preferred Skills:Familiar with one or more SJI OT specific technologies including: Claroty; ServiceNow; Solarwinds; SCCM; Synology; Rubrik; Aveva; Stratix; Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture (PERA).

Accomplished at configuring and troubleshooting critical applications for OT/SCADA environments, load balancing and optimizing performance, troubleshooting issues, and configuring templates and rules.

Experience supporting: OT/SCADA; IoT; ICS; DCS; Azure; Private Cloud; and SaaS environments.

In-depth understanding of the backup and restoration processes, using technologies such as Rubrik, VMware, Synology, and SRM.

Advanced understanding of networking including WAN/LAN/VLAN/SDWAN, knowledge of Fortinet (Fortiswitch, Fortianalyer, Fortimanager), Cisco routers, and NG firewall technologies with TCPIP, DNS, SAML and SSO, SSL and Certificate Management, VPN connectivity and MFA solutions.

Aptitude for Active Directory support, creating and troubleshooting security groups, accounts, group, and policy management.

Required Background:Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or

Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.

Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of degree along with relevant certifications.

Preferred Background:Relevant industry or technical certifications.

IT Systems Administration experience specific to OT/SCADA systems.

The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
