Job Summary:

Ascot’s Guidewire Solutions business unit is seeking a motivated Senior Business Systems Analyst to lead the functional track of Guidewire projects involving both implementation and maintenance. The Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for formulating and defining systems scope and objectives through research and providing detailed descriptions of user requirements and program functions for Guidewire products. The successful candidate will conduct inception workshops to define the implementation roadmap, design and develop Guidewire applications, and implement business rules and workflows within the Guidewire platform. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, and act as a liaison between business and IT, while mentoring and managing SI business analysts.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead functional track of Guidewire projects involving implementation and/or maintenance.

Work closely with the SI partners and lead/manage deliverables.

Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business solutions and business requirements.

Analyzes, identifies, and writes detailed description of user requirements, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify Guidewire product.

Conduct Inception workshops to define implementation roadmap and feature list for Guidewire product in alignment with Guidewire standard methodologies and guiding principles.

Design and develop Guidewire applications, including configuration, integration, and customization of Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter modules.

Implement and maintain business rules, workflows, and user interfaces within the Guidewire platform.

Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Act as a liaison between business and IT. Develop and maintain knowledge of business.

Exhibit strong business knowledge and build strong customer relationships.

Mentor and manage SI business analysts that are part of the team.

Required Qualifications:

Guidewire Business Analyst Certification, and Guidewire Developer Certification preferred.

Minimum

3

years demonstrated experience working in Guidewire x-centers.

At least 5 years’ experience working as an IT Lead Business Analyst in Guidewire projects defining requirements for User Interfaces, application logic & integration mechanisms with sound knowledge of out of the box features and data model.

Property and casualty insurance knowledge in commercial lines and specialty product offerings preferred.

Experience in driving workshops, defining product backlog & roadmap, sprint planning and handling scope, dependency & risks.

Experience in requirement elicitation, gap analysis, process modelling, requirement management, driving UAT, defining implementation and data migration plans, product support and user training.

Experience defining business Requirements, functional & non-functional requirements, integration requirements, service specifications, data mapping, requirement management plan, User manuals, Standard Operating Procedures.

Customer interfacing experience - Project oversight, customer relationship Management, Leading partner recommendations and resolution recommendations.

Agile Scrum development methodology experience using Agile Management Tool such as DevOps / JIRA.

Visio and workflow design skills.

Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Solid communication skills – verbal, written and presentation.

Ability to quickly adapt to new and evolving situations.

Compensation

Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is just one component of Ascot’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual cash bonus, long-term incentives, and other forms of discretionary compensation awarded by the Company. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $135,000 - $155,000 for New York Metro Area.
