Functions

Work with the C5ISR Integration and Testing Manager and all required Production Crafts, Contractors, and ESG Engineering, Purchasing and Program Office, to ensure all tests and validations are fully accomplished on the Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) program, in support of schedule, cost and performance requirements. Requires Integration and Testing Lead to have Subject Matter Expert experience in one of the following disciplines: Navigation Systems, Exterior Communications Systems, Weapons Systems, Information Systems or Combat Systems/Operations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers; the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.Leader within the C5ISR Integration and Testing team in execution of a robust total ship test program including, but not limited to, development of test processes and procedures for all areas. Shall develop test reports, to include land based, shipboard (pier side and underway), and Navy INSURV acceptance trials.Shall be an SME on assigned system and perform basic/advanced test operations of equipment.Shall be able to work as integration and Testing Lead for assigned system, and ability to lead the production team through the installation check-out, grooming, and operation of assigned systems. Be able to demonstrate proper operation of equipment and systems to ABS, USCG and INSURV.Work with Production, QA, and Engineering to ensure 100% corrective actions, within the assigned areas, are completed. Apply all trial cards and deficiencies discovered during test/QA and work to have them corrected on future platforms.Support the C5ISR Integration and Testing Manager and Ship’s Test Lead to de-conflict competing priorities during all Testing and Activation projects to deliver results within financial and schedule specifications.Support the C5ISR Integration and Testing Manager and Ship’s Test Lead in production, test, launch, and trials Readiness Reviews.Support the C5ISR Integration and Testing Manager and Ship’s Test Lead and during Pre and Post Sea Trials meetings within assigned area.Support the C5ISR Integration and Testing Manager and Ship’s Test Lead in coordinating with Engineering and Project Management to ensure that the shipyard testing strategy is being followed.Ability to work independently or in a group.Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities

Will directly and/or indirectly supervise employees assigned to the OPC C5ISR I&T Team and Contractors. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.Reporting Relationship

This position will report to the C5ISR Integration and Test Manager.Job Requirements

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Must have a Bachelor's Degree or five plus years of experience in shipboard testing, reviewing test procedures, performing test validation, verifying pre-requisites, and documentation into deliverable test reports. Three or more years of experience in commercial or government contracts experience in shipbuilding, testing and delivery of US Military Ships preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Civilian or Military experience in the C5ISR field preferred. Experience developing test procedures using ABS NVR highly desired. Must possess troubleshooting skills and experience. Must be able to quickly understand basic system operation, and integration with C5ISR systems. Must be able to understand troubleshooting procedures and provide solutions. Experience with integration of a test program into Program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), starting with design through fabrication, construction, and delivery preferred.Skills:

Intermediate level Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook experience. Working knowledge of various web-based design and collaboration tools desired. Ability to read and understand drawings, tech manuals and other documents to understand the operational requirements of systems and equipment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Company policies/procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to interpret contract requirements, specifications, and drawings into a comprehensive test program. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines. Ability to effectively present information, brief presentations and respond to questions from senior management, employees, government officials and the public. Effective written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to forge and sustain outstanding client-relationships while managing multiple work streams. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and have an attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and as part of the project team while exercising diplomacy and tact. Ability to rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high-level reports.Behavioral Attributes:

This job will operate in multiple environments, including a professional office environment, and Shipboard during the production, outfit, test, and delivery phases of each Ship. Employees must be able to work in a ship production environment, including climbing, entering tanks and voids, etc., in all weather conditions.
