This role will require expertise in network design, security, troubleshooting, traffic analysis, and supporting services to ensure the stability and integrity of Firefly corporate and operations networks.
This position is an in-person role at our HQ location in Cedar Park, TX.Objectives of this roleDesign, implementation, and troubleshooting of network solutions based on business requirements.Provide project management for various network activities, including upgrades, implementations, and migrations, offering technical direction and user support as needed.Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot firewall rules to ensure network security and communication.Monitor and propose improvements to network architecture and performance.Conduct regular network assessments and plan necessary upgrades or improvements.Collaborate with other IT teams to develop and implement necessary network services and ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure supporting business requirements.Collaborate with other IT teams to develop and implement automation for network architecture.Create, update, and maintain documentation of network environment and operational procedures.Create reports and documentation outlining findings and proposed solutions to improve network performance and stability.Requirements:8+ years of experience designing, monitoring, and troubleshooting campus, datacenter, and WAN networks to support mission critical operations.Extensive knowledge of network protocols including LAN/WAN technologies, routing and switching, QoS, network security, and network traffic flow analysis.Expertise with network infrastructure hardware and software, including switches, routers, wireless access points, controllers, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista or equivalent).Proficiency in firewall configuration, troubleshooting, and network security protocols (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortigate, etc).Experience implementing and maintaining network monitoring systems (e.g., PRTG, Zabbix, or Grafana).Experience collecting and analyzing packet captures to troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues.Strong communication skills and collaboration experience with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to think quickly and resolve mission-critical, high-risk issues.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.Professional certification (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent).Experience with AWS network infrastructure.Experience with automation and scripting tools.Experience with Docker or Kubernetes.Familiarity with virtualization technologies.Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server and Linux.Familiarity with agile/scrum methodologies.Firefly offers outstanding benefits for our employees, including generous health, dental and vision plans with low plan deductibles, parental leave, educational reimbursement, short term disability, and flexible PTO options.To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.Firefly Aerospace, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with Firefly is governed based on merit, competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status.
