At GDIT you’ll be at the forefront of innovation and play a meaningful part in improving how agencies operate.HOW A M3 SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR (RHEL/ LINUX) WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:Provide system administration support for Linux/Solaris operating systems including installing software, applying patches, managing file systems, monitoring performance, and troubleshooting alerts from monitoring tools.Analyze and resolve problems associated with the operating system, servers, hardware, and applications software.In-depth hardware configuration knowledge, shell programming expertise, and a solid understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures.Responsible for daily monitoring of interface programs between multiple enterprise systems; review daily logs and ensure successful completion.Perform incremental and full cold backups/patching.Setup backups for Linux and Oracle databases.Responsible for DoD Linux Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).Provide performance metrics and usage charts for the Linux Servers.Provide general maintenance, upgrades, and new installation of servers and document procedures.Install, test, and verify Oracle Linux Security patches.Perform systems security administration functions, including creation and maintenance of customer profiles and accounts.Responsible for creating and/or maintaining standard operating procedures for the Linux documentation library.Implement LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) web server configuration.Experience in handling NFS, CIFS, and SMB permissions.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experienceRequired Skillset:

Experience managing legacy Linux servers and cloud resourcesHighly versed in Linux administration and best practicesFamiliar with enterprise network architecturesExperience with automated configuration management (Puppet, Chef, etc.)Familiar in programming/scripting skills for automation - Bash, Ruby, Python, Perl, etc.General understanding of Linux internalsGeneral understanding of TCP/IP and related protocols

Security Clearance Level: TS/SCIRequired Certification(s):

DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) CertificationIAT III 8570 Baseline Certification - Sec+CE or equivalentRequired Computing Environment certification: Red Hat Certified Systems Admin (RHCSA) or equivalent
