Summary/Objective
Reporting to the IT Director, the Microsoft System Administrator is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the Microsoft 365 (M365) environment, including SharePoint, Teams, Power Apps, and related products. This position is responsible for installing and administering various cloud and on-premise IT systems as needed. Additionally, the role involves project management and business analytics duties, which are important for effectively driving and supporting IT projects and analyzing business needs.
Essential Functions
Administer the M365 environment, including SharePoint, Teams, and other enterprise solutions.
Administer SharePoint sites, including the creation, configuration, and management of sites, lists, libraries, web parts, permissions, and data governance policies.
Install, maintain, and administer new and existing software, servers, and applications as needed.
Coordinate and contribute to IT projects related to the M365 environment, including planning, execution, and reporting.
Resolve technical issues through research, log analysis, and advanced troubleshooting.
Produce M365 reports and dashboards to track usage, performance, and other key metrics.
Provide support across various IT roles, including Desktop Support, System Administration, Network Administration, and Systems Management, to ensure consistent coverage during absences or peak times.
Responsibilities & Duties
Work with IT management to coordinate and deploy M365 roadmap releases and new functionality of M365 apps.
Function as a technical escalation resource for IT team members, providing guidance and support for complex issues.
Monitor system data to support continuous improvement and security initiatives.
Coordinate IT projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to scope, and alignment with business goals.
Conduct business analysis to gather and document requirements, ensuring IT solutions align with business needs and objectives.
Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain training materials and documentation.
Engage with outside resources as needed to support overall technology delivery and support.
Monitor IT Service Desk for escalated tickets.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing and supporting Microsoft 365 environments with a focus on SharePoint, Teams, and PowerApps.
Microsoft Certified SharePoint Administrator (preferred), Microsoft Certified Microsoft 365 Administrator.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar project management experience is highly desirable.
Experience in business analysis, including requirements gathering and process documentation.
Experience with PowerShell scripting, Power Automate, and Power BI.
Experience with reporting and dashboard tools within the M365 ecosystem.
Must have ability to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis.
Self-motivated and constant learner.
Excellent problem-solving ability and strategic thinking skills.
Strong team player.
Travel
Minimal overnight and out-of-state travel may be required for this role.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to lift IT related items including monitors, servers, computers, etc., as well as the ability to run cable and setup work areas.
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., but evening and weekend work is expected. Some flexibility in hours is allowed based on management’s approval. The ability to work remotely on a limited basis is based on management’s approval.
