Unisig
Machining Manager
Unisig, Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, United States, 53051
UNISIG engineers, manufactures, and assembles high-value precision CNC machine tools which require thousands of unique machined components. Our completed machines are exported to countries around the world and we have earned a very good reputation based on our product capability and committed staff. We are looking for a strong leader to fill the position of Machining Manager.
This is not a typical role for a machine shop manager, as we are not a typical company. All machined parts made in our shop are used for our products. Our intent is to continuously reset the standard of performance internally which will require a constant focus on developing the skills and increasing the capabilities of the CNC machinists and programmers.
Our focus is to build small quantity, complex parts very efficiently using technology, automation and creative ideas from our machine shop staff. We open native 3D CAD data from our engineering group and program using 3D MasterCAM. We are continuing to develop workflows to reduce the overall programming, setup and running time required to manufacture our parts.
Our machine shop currently uses CNC horizontal boring mills, CNC horizontal machining centers, CNC multifunction Mill Turn centers, CNC vertical machining centers, and CNC lathes. Our largest floor-type CNC machine can produce parts weighing up to 32 tons, but our tool room staff make precision parts that weigh only a few ounces. Currently we operate a single shift, but additional shifts are a future consideration.
