As the Software Support Engineer in Houston, Texas for ENGIE FlexGen (Flexible Generation including Storage, Thermal, and Hydrogen) North America, you will be assisting with identifying root causes and resolving issues reported by users. Every day, you will report to the Software Engineering Director supporting the various software applications and systems to operate Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) along with a wide range of software support activities.What You’ll BringBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, engineering or related field of study and two (2) years of professional experience designing and implementing database systems; in lieu of a degree, you should have four (4) years of professional experience in which you have gained an understanding of database systems.Hands-on experience interfacing with users to collect information regarding issues encountered with various software systems and applications.Knowledge of scripting languages such as PERL, Python or similar.Understanding of software configuration management systems such as Git or Subversion.Ability to debug software.Previous experience working in an agile scrum environment.Ability to recommend enhancements to improve reliability and usability of internally developed applications and systems.This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; 3 days a week in the office.Must be available to travel domestically up to 10% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips.Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record.Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.CompensationSalary Range:

$96,100 – $147,660 USD annually.This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
