About The Role:
The primary responsibility of the position is the engineering technology development for commercial water chilling systems and data center cooling. In this role, the individual will ensure that technologies are developed and integrated smoothly into the chiller and data center thermal solutions within the new product development process. The senior engineer will be responsible for developing solutions that best meet the local/global market needs by integrating multiple technologies into winning thermal solutions. A strong understanding of the thermodynamics of the chiller system, thermal system modeling, tube in shell heat transfer, refrigerant system performance analysis, product control application, and compression application is required.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Thermodynamic based modeling and optimization of chiller system design, fluid filtration and pumping
Work cross-functionally with the technology organization to effectively develop technologies that smoothly launch into production
Develop chiller system architecture solutions that meet or exceed product development requirements
Confirm product design performance, capability, and reliability testing in our engineering product test laboratories utilizing DOE methodologies.
Collaborate with product marketing teams locally to develop product requirements and ensure that the product meets their needs upon launch
Follow all appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs.
Work toward commonality and optimization of product & components to reduce design errors and escapes.
Produce parts, specifications, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders / purchase requests
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 5+ years of systems engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent and 3+ years of systems engineering experience
Project leadership experience
Experience in new product development, service, and/or aftermarket space
HVAC industry experience, strongly preferred
Strong communication skills, primarily in English
