Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Business Manager III (CAIT) for the School of Engineering. The Business Manager III will work for the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT) with minimal supervision within broadly defined work objectives of the Center's programs. The Business Manager III will be in charge of project management and coordination of sponsored projects for the Center and will be accountable for the financial planning, implementation, and compliance for various research programs.
This position will work closely with the School of Engineering's Business Office, which is responsible for oversight of all SoE research-related financial operation and reporting. The Business Manager III position will report results regularly to the SoE Business Manager 1 or an SoE designee as requested.
Key Duties:
Monitors the fiscal integrity of all assigned funding sources for the Center and is responsible for conducting payroll, general ledger, and project sub-ledger reconciliations.
Responsible for the interim fiscal analysis, close out, and financial reporting for all sponsored projects; serves as the first point of contact for all reconciliations, close-outs, and financial reporting with the office of Research Financial Services.
Assists in managing projects and provides support for the Center's sponsored programs, with primary focus on business planning, forecasting, and compliance.
Responsible for the financial management and reporting of the center's sponsored programs and projects with thorough reconciliation, monitoring, and close-out for the center's research portfolio.
Coordinates and implements the various programs for the Center and builds a sound business support for the CAIT research team.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
Also requires a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in a financial/accounting function, excellent communication skills, and computer literacy.
