Lead Network Engineer
to design and automate the provisioning and management of a hybrid enterprise network infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for the design, documentation, automation, development, and implementation of the network infrastructure. They will collaborate with architects and peers to design, build, and implement new and improved digital applications. Additionally, they will help maintain network data and security infrastructure and services across multiple brands. The candidate needs an understanding of network security principles, pipelines, and release management concepts. The candidate should be able to multitask and work in an agile environment. Senior level collaboration and leadership with multiple teams including but not limited to application teams, DevOps/Infrastructure teams, security, architecture, engineering, and project management teams is expected in this role. This position has no direct reports.Note: This role would need to be hybrid in our Columbus, OH headquarters on an as-needed basis (no set number of days per week).Reports To:
Manager, Network EngineeringEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Design, implement, and operate secure and manageable switched and routed networks. This includes all private, public, and business-partner network infrastructure. Implements according to defined processes, procedures, project schedules following industry-standard best practices.Develop, validate, and update key network engineering artifacts such as standards/best practices, design documents, and decision records for DBI’s multi-cloud hybrid network environment.Design and document solutions to meet requirements and that are easily scalable for the enterprise.As a senior engineering lead, work closely with infrastructure and security engineers to understand emerging network technologies and their application in the evolving DBI network topology and how it would benefit the company and its users.Transforming, integrating, and automating network infrastructure to tightly integrate with SDN (Software Defined Networking).Develop and write automation scripts (Python, Ansible, Terraform, Napalm) to support the automation for network-related changes/deployment.Monitor and troubleshoot network-related issues to support application teams.Participate in network health diagnostics and optimization via proper monitoring and capacity planning and work to automate self-healing.Required Skills:Knowledge on routing, switching, firewalls, and Load balancers is a must.Very strong technical knowledge of enterprise networking solutions for large environments.Demonstrated self-motivation, leadership ability, strong team player who enjoys a fast-paced atmosphere.Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments, and projects.Ability to learn very quickly in a fast-paced environment.Experience working with frameworks and APIs.Worked in a team using agile methodologies.Qualifications:Experience:7+ years in designing, supporting/troubleshooting, and deploying enterprise networks.1-3 years working with automation tooling (Ansible, Terraform).Extensive experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.Experience with VPN technology, including remote user access, branch office connectivity, monitoring, and fault isolation.Experience with wireless technologies, including 802.11ax, 802.1x, site surveys, monitoring, and fault isolation preferred (Cisco Autonomous, Unified Wireless, and/or Meraki product suite experience).Experience with packet capture hardware/software (Ethereal, Sniffer) to support fault isolation.Experience with Data Center centric, Cloud services, and Software Defined Networking required.Non-biased view of technologies, but specific extensive experience with the following technologies required:Cisco Switches, Routers.Arista EOS.Palo Alto Network Firewalls.Fortinet FortiOS (Firewalls and switches).F5 LTM, Big-IP.Education:B.S.
