Torch Technologies is seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Engineer with over 15 years of expertise in systems engineering, HWIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), and advanced digital architecture. The ideal candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), offering top-tier technical leadership for the Objective Simulation Framework (OSF) and Single Simulation Framework (SSF) architectures. The successful individual will possess an in-depth understanding of multi-element integration within complex System of Systems (SoS) frameworks, ensuring robust and scalable architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive Strategic Technical Roadmaps: Lead the conceptualization and execution of forward-looking technical strategies, ensuring alignment with emerging technologies, mission objectives, and innovation trends. Develop cutting-edge roadmaps that advance OSF/SSF capabilities and position the organization as a leader in the simulation framework space.Deliver High-Impact SME Support: Serve as a trusted technical advisor, providing high-level subject matter expertise in framework architectures, digital simulations, and HWIL integrations. Engage directly with senior leadership, ensuring all technical initiatives are strategically aligned with both current and future mission-critical needs.Lead Systems Innovation and Quality Assurance: Oversee the design, development, and integration of complex systems, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, innovative solutions. Ensure all technical deliverables meet the highest standards, guiding teams in implementing best practices for continuous improvement and performance optimization.Strategic Leadership Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership across multiple levels, fostering trust and collaboration. Act as a bridge between technical teams and executive management, translating complex technical concepts into actionable insights and strategies.Mentor and Develop Cross-Functional Teams: Lead by example, mentoring diverse engineering teams to enhance technical skillsets and capabilities. Develop a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and staff retention by empowering team members with the tools and knowledge needed for personal and professional growth.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in STEM, a related field or equivalent experience and 15+ years’ experience with DoDProven expertise in managing and advancing HWIL and Digital Architectures for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).Extensive background in leading-edge digital engineering and architectural strategies.Skilled in delivering high-impact briefings to senior Department of Defense (DoD) civilian and military leaders.Deep familiarity with MDA organizational structures, processes, and procedural frameworks.Comprehensive understanding of Missile Defense System (MDS) infrastructure and its component capabilities.Active Secret ClearanceThe candidate should have strong management, team, and work-shaping skills, being an experienced leader in technical, project, and workforce management to achieve sponsor-defined outcomes, with the ability to shape and evaluate work programs and technical strategies for increased value and timely deliverables. The candidate should also possess excellent technical and applied engineering skills, including proficiency in digital systems requirements.
