General Summary:

This is an advanced strategic technical position within the organization. The IT Systems Administrator I is responsible for the design, build, testing, implementation, and maintenance of various network, server, and IT systems. This includes both internal systems as well as customer-facing, on-prem and cloud / hosted environments. A primary responsibility of this position is ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of Windows and Linux based systems. The person in this role will also be providing technical assistance to team members with system and network requests. Troubleshooting, critical thinking, problem solving, and meticulous documentation will be critical to the success of this position.

Proven ability to support popular Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Microsoft 365 Suite, Intune, Azure.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network, server, storage, and other infrastructure services.

Proven ability to support various virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, SCALE, and Microsoft HyperV.

Proven ability to design, implement, and support hosted/cloud solutions.

Experience with design, implementation, and support of various disaster recovery solutions.

Remote access solution support: VPN, RDS.

Communication with customers as required: Keeping them informed of incident progress.

Perform system administrator functions including Microsoft AD user/group administration, security permissions, research event log warnings and errors, resource monitoring.

Help administer and maintain user access control including but not limited to servers, applications, AD, firewalls, switches, VPN.

Train technical support staff on solving common systems-related problems.

VoIP Providers: Mitel, ShoreTel, 3CX, etc.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

Business awareness: Specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals.

Strong documentation habits: Change control, ticketing, project status, process and procedure, topology maps, training guides, etc.

Continuous learning of new and existing technologies.

Contribute and assist in the design standards for servers, operating systems, and networks based on industry best practice and regulatory guidelines.

This position will require rotated 24/7 on-call and after hours / weekend work as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:

3 years experience administering Windows Server (Linux experience is a bonus).

Advanced understanding of Microsoft Server 2016 and later: AD, DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy.

Understanding of VLANs, DMZ, QoS, VPN, etc.

Proven proficiency with PowerShell, Batch, or other scripting languages.

Ability to effectively communicate complex IT concepts, simplistically.

Professional IT Certifications (preferred): MCSA, Azure Administrator, VMWare, or AWS.

Interpersonal skills: Telephone skills, communication skills, active listening, and customer-care.

Technical awareness: Ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately.

Service awareness of all organization’s key IT services for which support is being provided.

Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment.

Comprehensive Benefits Package:

Full Time Salaried Position ($70,000 - $80,000 based on experience)
